🕯️ NATIONAL DAY OF MISSING PERSONS

We came together to mark the National Day of Missing Persons, honoring the memory of the 1,592 individuals still missing from the last war in Kosovo (International Red Cross).

Held at the University of Prishtina, the gathering brought together families of the missing, civil society, institutional representatives, and citizens.

This year, we paid heartfelt tribute to two extraordinary individuals who dedicated their lives to this cause.

🕯️ Bajram Çerkini, who passed away in 2025
🕯️ Milorad Trifunović, who passed away in 2020

Founders of the Missing Persons Resource Center, their tireless commitment continues to inspire the fight for the truth.

We were deeply moved by the words shared by:
Aida Çerkini, close relative of Bajram Çerkini
Negovan Mavrić, Deputy Director of MPRC

Prof. Dr. Bekim Baliqi, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy
Kushtrim Gara, Government Commission for Missing Persons
The event also featured a powerful cello performance by Adonis Gjini, followed by a symbolic walk to the Memorial for Missing Persons in Prishtina, where we laid flowers in collective remembrance.

This gathering was a call for justice and institutional accountability in uncovering the fate of the missing persons from the last war in Kosovo.

🕊️ The future begins by knowing, honoring, and confronting the past.

*This event was organized in partnership with MPRC & Pro Peace.
