Youth Initiative for Human Rights – Kosovo (YIHR KS) supported by Civil Rights Defenders (CRD) organized a training for lawyers in the region of Prizren on the topic: “Discrimination in Kosovo: International Standards and the Anti-Discrimination Law.”
The training was organised in cooperation with the Kosovo Chamber of Advocates (OAK) and 30 lawyers attended the training. The aim of the training was to introduce the lawyers with the general principles of discrimination law, international standards and their application in Kosovo and with the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights, in cases of discrimination.
The training was welcomed by lawyers, especially the practical aspects which focused on utilizing the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights. Finally, lawyers discussed future opportunities for cooperation in identifying and addressing cases of discrimination.
