Call for Application
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Kosovo (YIHR Kosovo), with the support of Civil Right Defenders is announcing the first Anti-discrimination Law Training, to be held between September and October 2011, in Prishtina. The training will offer in-depth knowledge of all anti-discrimination legal measures applicable in Kosovo including international conventions, national legislation, case law, as well as offering practical skills through workshops and a legal moot.

Information about the Training

The Anti-discrimination Law Training is part of YIHR Kosovo’s Human Rights Program, which intends to deepen the knowledge of lawyers in this field of applicable international conventions and national legislation. It will also provide participants with a range of practical skills such as developing legal arguments, making verbal and written submissions and defending a discrimination case. The training will be held over four days during September and October 2011.

Eligibility

Applicants are required to have completed their Bachelor Degree in Law, have an interest in Human Rights Law and in particular Anti-Discrimination Law. Additionally, in order to be successful applicants are required to demonstrate that they intend to practice in these areas of the law.

Knowledge of the English Language (spoken, written and of legal terminology) would be an asset.

Application and selection process

Interested applicants are required to submit their CV and a short paragraph (350 – 500 words maximum) detailing their motivation to attend the training, their interest in this field, previous work experience and future career plans toksoffice@yihr.org, with “Anti-Discrimination Law Training” as a subject heading. Only suitable candidates will be contacted.
