Youth Initiative for Human Rights – Kosovo (YIHR KS) with the support of Civil Rights Defenders, as part of its Human Rights Program held a two day training on the 14th and 15th of August 2012 on freedom of expression and hate speech.

The training was held at the YIHR KS office in Prishtina for YIHR KS staff and the staff of selected organisations including:Libertas, Kosovo Mental Disability Rights Initiative (K-MDRI), Kosovo 2.0, Association of Professional Journalists of Kosova (AGPK) and European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI).

The training explored human rights such as freedom of expression and the right to privacy, as well as dealing with hate speech. In doing so, international and national legislation and examples were used and practical ways to tackle hate speech were discussed.
