On Constitution Day, we held an action in front of the Assembly of Kosovo with unwavering determination to protect human rights for all without distinction. Our activation is not merely symbolic; it is a call to action, a demand for accountability, and a statement of our unwavering commitment to justice and equality.
He brought us 120 copies of the Constitution of Kosovo for 120 members of parliament – not as a gift or as simple documents on paper, but as a powerful reminder for our members of parliament about what this Constitution guarantees and protects – shared democratic values. and steadfast principles of justice, equality, and liberty.
While we were in the Assembly of Kosovo, we could not ignore the grim realities that our society is facing. Discrimination, marginalization, and systemic injustices continue to be prevalent, undermining the well-being, dignity, and rights of the most marginalized groups of society. Femicide continues, gender and sexual violence continues, homophobia continues, countless injustices are around us, and our state is silent, our institutions together with those at the top are silent. Our constitution is being ignored, even though it lists the values and rights of everyone.
It is even more tragic to think that this Constitution is being violated by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo itself, and the deputies who enjoy the rights and privileges of this Constitution.
Therefore, we call on every member of parliament to listen clearly to our call, respect their oath of office, and fulfill their constitutional duties to protect and promote human rights for all.
Constitution Day is not just a day of celebration; it is a day of seeking accountability, a day of reflection, and a day of renewed determination to build an equitable future for all. We will make sure to pursue all legal measures available to all those who take anti-Constitutional actions.
