Call for Proposals: Cross-border Youth Dialogue – SMALL GRANTS SCHEME

YIHR KS is thrilled to announce a Call for Proposals for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and youth through the Kosovo-Serbia Small Granting Scheme. We are ready to award 10 grants, each up to 5,000.00 EUR, to support cross-border initiatives led by CSOs. Our goal is to empower youth to contribute to genuine normalization through dialogue.


Objective: Foster relations and communication between youth from Kosovo and Serbia. Let’s make a difference together!


Results we aim to achieve:

  • Sub-granting to 10 CSOs engaged in cross-border cooperation.
  • Involvement of at least an additional 10 CSOs in cross-border cooperation.
  • Generate findings and recommendations for future financial assistance.
  • Enhance communication between youth in the cross-border region of Kosovo and Serbia. 


Project ideas must fall under:

  • Dealing with the past and transitional justice
  • Peacebuilding and human rights
  • Inter-ethnic community cohesion and dialogue
  • Counternarratives, oral history, and storytelling
  • Media literacy and fight against disinformation and propaganda
  • Overcoming stereotypes and prejudice


Types of Eligible Activities:

  • Production of videos and multimedia content
  • Small publications (reports, journals, stories, interviews)
  • Podcasts
  • Learning and experience exchange initiatives (trainings, workshops, public lectures, debates)
  • Campaigns
  • Activism and Artivism
  • Journalism


Eligible Entities: CSOs and local non-governmental organizations active in youth activism, reconciliation, and human rights are eligible to apply. Priority given to entities from border towns in Serbia and Kosovo.


Selection Criteria:

Lot 1: Cross-border cooperation in dealing with the past, transitional justice, peacebuilding, human rights, and inter-ethnic community cohesion and dialogue.

Lot 2: Counternarratives, oral history, storytelling, media literacy, fight against disinformation and propaganda, overcoming stereotypes, and prejudice.

Emphasis on young people as main beneficiaries.

Evaluation based on “best impact and value for money” criteria.


Financial Support: Up to 5,000 EUR depending on the proposal. Key criteria include strategic policy changes and the reach of the target audience. Target values will be set in the small grants’ applications by the applicants.


Timeline: Call for proposals open for two months, followed by up to two months of evaluation.
