Regional Youth Exchange on Reconciliation and Intercultural Dialogue in the Balkans

Dates: 7th – 11th August 2023
Location: Prizren, Kosovo

We are pleased to announce the open call for participants to apply for the upcoming Youth Exchange, which will take place from the 7th until the 11th of August 2023 in Prizren, Kosovo. This project aims to address the crucial issue of reconciliation and intercultural dialogue among young people in the Balkans.

The Balkan region has a complex history marked by political tensions and conflicts, particularly during the wars of the 1990s. Although the wars have ended, the impact of the conflicts continues to affect the region. There is still a noticeable lack of trust and communication between different ethnic communities, hindering progress towards sustainable peace and cooperation.

The primary objective of this activity is to foster greater understanding and empathy among young people from Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. By bringing together participants from these countries, we hope to break down barriers and build bridges of communication. Through this residential exchange, we aim to empower the youth as peace-building champions in their communities.

This Youth Exchange offers a unique opportunity for young individuals who are passionate about reconciliation, intercultural dialogue, and peace-building to come together, exchange ideas, and develop meaningful connections. If you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and reside in Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, or Bosnia and Herzegovina, we encourage you to apply and be a part of this transformative experience.
