Bridging Communities through Inter-Ethnic Astronomy Initiatives

Astronomy Club of Kosova & ECO LEPO are another successful partnership from the Small Grants Scheme we launched in 2023 aiming to foster inter-ethnic relations.

Their project focused on inter-ethnic cooperation in the field of natural sciences and astronomy among Kosovo students of all communities. They organized activities in several cities across Kosovo, including several public astronomy events at the Prishtina Observatory.

These events served as a meeting point for youngsters of different ethnic backgrounds, and simultaneously, as a productive platform for intercultural dialogue.

Using astronomy as a common ground for discussion and collaboration transcends cultural and ethnic boundaries. We believe we need more multi-ethnic science spaces, as it encourages the exchange of ideas and perspectives among youngsters from diverse communities.

*Small Grants Scheme is part of the ‘Kosovo Youth Dialogue’ project supported by USAID Kosovo.
