We have successfully concluded the 5-year-long Youth for Justice Project with hundreds of activities implemented and more than 6000 beneficiaries!
The Youth for Justice project empowered young people in Kosovo to actively participate and advocate for justice. This project also promoted sustainable human rights education, enhanced critical thinking among law students and youth, and fostered dialogue, accountability, and transparency within the justice sector.
The Youth for Justice project has achieved significant milestones! Concretely, we created the “My Right” platform which empowers young people in the justice sector. It raised awareness about accountability, transparency, human rights, and justice institutions in Kosovo. This platform facilitates reporting and inquiries regarding human rights violations, leading to communication between reporting parties and relevant institutions.
We organized Justice Lectures and Mock Trials to educate high school and university students about the legal system. An artistic competition encouraged creative expression on human rights issues, while a court monitoring program engaged law students in observing and reporting on judicial proceedings. Justice Murals were inaugurated in high schools to promote human rights awareness, and interns were placed in Basic Courts to gain practical experience. Open Court Day allowed high school students to visit and learn about court proceedings. And lastly, the Alternative School for Human Rights provided lectures, talks, and visits to educate students about human rights. In the framework of this project, we accredited the “Human Rights Education Program for Young People” with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MESTI) and held training courses on human rights for civic education teachers.
