Open Call: Capacity Building Training for NGO Representatives

YIHR KS is pleased to invite representatives of non-governmental organizations in the field of transitional justice and reconciliation to take part in a one-week training on capacity building and activism in these two areas. The training is held in the framework of the project “Kosovo Youth Dialogue Activity” supported by USAID.

This training will bring together 20 representatives of NGOs in Kosovo interested in working in the field of transitional justice and the reconciliation process in Kosovo.

Currently, there are very few organizations that have capacities to undertake proper programs in this field, therefore we aim to increase capacities of NGOs in particular those at the local level so as to be more active and contribute in the reconciliation process in Kosovo. This will be an advanced training led by professional trainers and field-experts. Some of the topics that will be covered include: transitional justice, inter-cultural dialogue, fundraising for transitional justice and reconciliation projects etc.

The training will last 3 days (21- 23 November) and will take place in the Prishtina region. Accommodation, food and transportation costs are covered by the organizers.

*Note: Only 1 representative of the organization can be part of the training.

To apply for the training please complete the Google Form by November 8, 2022. For any additional questions, please contact: fiona.haxhiislami@yihr.org or 049 515 157.

Youth Initiative for Human Rights was initially established as a regional non-governmental organization in 2003, which was later transformed into a regional network of YIHR in Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. For over a decade, YIHR KS has successfully worked in protecting and promoting human rights and democratic values not only in Kosovo but also in the region. Specifically, YIHR KS has focused on the process of dealing with the past, protection of human rights, empowering rule of law and the role of youth at the local and regional level.

As the role and impact of YIHR KS is increasing and the context is changing continuously, the core mission of the YIHR remains relevant to-date, regardless of the significant success that has been achieved.
